Results from real cases

Counts from cases people have opened on Lysco, updated about once a day. Outcomes are self-reported: Lysco never sends anything for anyone, so we only learn how a case ended when the person tells us.

Last updated

What happened to the money

Cash refunds, applied bill reductions, and restored coverage are counted separately. A document-supported outcome means an uploaded record contains an explicit amount or approval and the person confirmed it took effect. It is not independent authentication of the document or proof that Lysco caused the outcome.

Not enough data yet. We publish these financial figures once 30 cases have financial tracking records. Cases tracked so far: 0.

The latest record for each case and category counts. Changed or removed source documents are excluded from documentary amounts. Small groups and their amounts are withheld. These figures are separate from the self-reported results below; they are never added together.

Outcome rates come later

We'll publish outcome rates once 30 cases have a reported result. So far: fewer than 5 cases reviewed, 0 letters prepared, 0 letters marked sent and 0 cases with a reported result.

Results are self-reported: a case only has one when the person comes back and records it.

Honest verdicts

What Lysco told people

After reading a denial, bill, surprise bill or debt notice, Lysco gives one verdict. When the documents don't support a case, it says so.

Too few cases have a recorded verdict to show the split yet.

Methodology

How we count

These figures come straight from cases on Lysco, counted by fixed rules and updated about once a day. They are totals only: no names, case details or document text.

What each figure means

Cases reviewed
Cases where Lysco finished reading the documents: denials, medical bills, surprise bills, prior-authorization checks and debt notices. Free plain-English explanations of insurance statements are not counted.
Verdicts
The latest verdict on each reviewed denial, bill, surprise bill or debt notice. Cases read before Lysco began recording verdicts in mid-2026, and prior-authorization checks, are not in the split.
Argument score
For a denial, Lysco also scores the strength of the written argument. The score is not the odds that a payer changes its decision, and this page does not report scores.
Letters prepared
Cases with at least one letter Lysco drafted, counted once per case however many drafts.
Letters marked sent
Cases where the person recorded that they sent a letter, Lysco’s or their own.
Results reported
Cases with a final result the person recorded: won, partly won, settled or lost. Each case counts once, by its most recent result.

What these figures can't tell you

  • Outcomes are self-reported. Lysco never sends anything for anyone, so we only know a letter went out, or how a case ended, when the person comes back and records it.
  • Many people never report back. Results reported are a floor, not a total, and people who win may be more likely to tell us than people who lose.
  • Not cause and effect. A reported win does not show that the letter caused it.
  • Amounts are not verified. Self-reported dollar figures are what people entered when they recorded a result. The documentary section checks uploaded passages and patient confirmation; Lysco does not independently authenticate them with the insurer, provider or collector.
  • Deleted cases drop out. When someone deletes a case or their account, it leaves every figure at the next update. The numbers describe cases on file now, not every case ever opened.
  • Dates are when people recorded them. Not when a letter was mailed or a decision was issued. Cases still waiting for a result are left out of the median time.
  • Internal and test accounts are excluded. Lysco staff and test accounts are left out of every figure.
  • Small numbers are hidden. A figure under 5 shows as “fewer than 5”. A figure drawn from fewer than 5 people, or one that would let a hidden figure be worked out by subtraction, shows as “5 or more”.
  • Percentages wait for enough results. We publish percentages only once 30 cases have a reported result, so a handful of early cases is not over-read.

Lysco is informational software, not a law firm, medical provider, insurer or licensed patient advocate. It does not submit, send, negotiate or represent anyone; people review and send anything Lysco prepares. These figures describe past cases and are not a prediction for any one case. This page is not medical or legal advice.
